SCALOPPINE WITH ANY MEAT

Scaloppine With Any Meat image

You can use any kind of meat to make these dead-simple scaloppine - veal, turkey, chicken, pork, even beef if you can find pieces thin enough. Cook them quickly in butter over high heat, then turn those buttery pan drippings into your sauce, seasoning it with garlic and a squeeze of lemon or lime. This needs no further embellishment. But a handful of capers, sliced olives, chopped fresh herbs or toasted sliced almonds warmed in the butter at the last minute wouldn't do any harm, either.

Tips:

  • To ensure the tilapia fillets are evenly cooked, make sure they are of uniform thickness. If necessary, use a sharp knife to slice the fillets into even pieces.
  • Dredging the tilapia fillets in flour before cooking helps to create a crispy outer layer. Make sure to shake off any excess flour before pan-frying.
  • Use a large skillet or griddle to cook the tilapia fillets so that they have plenty of room to brown. Overcrowding the pan will prevent the fillets from cooking evenly.
  • Cook the tilapia fillets over medium heat until they are golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcooking, as this will make the fish dry and tough.
  • Serve the tilapia scaloppine immediately with your favorite sides. Some suggested sides include roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a simple green salad.

Conclusion:

Tilapia scaloppine is an easy and delicious dish that can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. The tilapia fillets are dredged in flour and then pan-fried until golden brown and cooked through. The sauce is made with white wine, lemon juice, and capers, and it adds a bright and flavorful touch to the dish. Tilapia scaloppine is a versatile dish that can be served with a variety of sides.
