Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 slices white bread (or 2 hamburger buns)
1 lemon
1 pound skinless tilapia fillets, cut into chunks
1/2 cup chopped sweet pickles
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 large egg, lightly beaten
Kosher salt and finely ground black pepper
5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
4 cups baby greens or 1 head of frisee

Steps:

  • Pulse the bread in a food processor until finely ground. Scoop 1 cup of the bread crumbs into a medium bowl and spread the remaining bread crumbs (about 3/4 cup) on a large plate. Grate the zest of the lemon into the bowl along with the breadcrumbs.
  • Pulse the fish in the food processor until coarsely diced (do not form a paste). Add the fish to the bowl with the lemon-bread crumbs along with the pickles, mayonnaise, egg, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and a few grinds of pepper. Form into 4 patties and dredge in the bread crumbs on the plate, turning to coat both sides.
  • Heat 3 tablespoons of the oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat. When hot, add the fish cakes and cook, flipping once, until golden and cooked through, 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Halve the lemon and squeeze half of the juice into a bowl. Cut the other half into wedges. Toss the baby greens with the lemon juice and remaining 2 tablespoons oil. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper. Serve the fish cakes with the salad and lemon wedges.

Provided by Booper-2

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 small onion, finely chopped
1 celery rib, finely chopped
1/4 cup plus 6 tablespoons butter, divided
1 cup lump crabmeat, drained
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons diced pimientos, drained
1/4 teaspoon seafood seasoning
4 tilapia fillets, 6 ounces each
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, sauté onion and celery in 1/4 cup butter until tender. Remove from the heat; stir in the crab, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, egg, pimientos and seafood seasoning. Spread 1/3 cup crab mixture over fillets. Roll up each from the pointed end; secure with toothpicks. Place seam side down in a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Melt remaining butter; drizzle over fish. Sprinkle with salt and paprika. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Discard toothpicks. Spoon pan juices over fish.a

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Fresh tilapia, crab, and vegetables will yield the best-tasting crab cakes.
  • Don't overmix the crab cake mixture. Overmixing can toughen the crab cakes.
  • Gently fold the crab cake mixture together. This will help to keep the crab cakes delicate.
  • Don't crowd the crab cakes in the pan. Cooking the crab cakes in a single layer will help them to cook evenly.
  • Serve the crab cakes immediately with roasted pepper aioli. This will ensure that the crab cakes are hot and crispy.

Conclusion:

Tilapia crab cakes with roasted pepper aioli are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for any occasion, from a casual get-together to a formal dinner party. With their delicate flavor and crispy texture, these crab cakes are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
