Number Of Ingredients 9

24 uncooked jumbo pasta shells
1 pound lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1 (26-ounce) jar chunky tomato pasta sauce
1/4 cup water
1 (8-ounce) container chive and onion cream cheese spread
1 1/2 cups 6 cheese Italian cheese blend, shredded (6-ounces)
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 egg
1 to 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Cook and drain pasta shells as directed on package. In 10-inch skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Cool slightly, about 5 minutes. In large bowl, mix pasta sauce and water. Pour 1 cup of the pasta sauce mixture in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. Arrange stuffed shells over sauce in baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over top, covering shells completely. Cover with foil. Cover; bake 40 to 45 minutes or until bubbly and cheese filling is set. Uncover; sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup Italian Cheese Blend. Bake about 10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with parsley.

Tips:

  • Choose the right pasta. Large pasta shells are the best choice for this recipe, as they can hold a lot of filling and sauce. You can also use other large pasta shapes, such as penne or rigatoni.
  • Cook the pasta al dente. This means that the pasta should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it. This will help prevent the pasta from becoming mushy when it is baked.
  • Use a variety of cheeses. The three cheeses used in this recipe - mozzarella, Parmesan, and ricotta - all have different flavors and textures that complement each other well. You can also use other types of cheese, such as cheddar, Gruyère, or fontina.
  • Don't overstuff the pasta shells. You want the pasta shells to be filled, but not so full that they are bursting. Otherwise, they will be difficult to eat and may fall apart.
  • Bake the pasta shells until they are golden brown. This will give them a crispy exterior and a gooey interior.

Conclusion:

Three-cheese beef pasta shells are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is sure to please the whole family. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty meal, give this recipe a try!
