MOM'S THANKSGIVING CRANBERRY JELLO MOLD
A MUST for us! A neighbor in Omaha had given this to my Mom in the early'60's and she has made it every Thanksgiving since. Now I make the holiday, so I make the mold! It's very easy. Keep in mind that this has walnuts just in case you have guests who are allergic to nuts. Enjoy! *You can make this 2 days before serving so I will make it on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and keep it in the mold in the refrigerator and just unmold it before serving.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, dissolve the packages of jello in the hot water.
- Add the cold water and the cranberry sauce. Blend well and chill.
- Before mixture sets, add apples, celery and nuts and mix well.
- Pour into a jello 3 cup mold sprayed lightly with a vegetable oil.
- Chill until it sets and invert on a plate when ready to serve. You can garnish with parsley sprigs.
Tips:
- Use fresh cranberries: Fresh cranberries have a brighter flavor and are more likely to hold their shape in the gelatin. If you can't find fresh cranberries, you can use frozen cranberries that have been thawed and drained.
- Cook the cranberries until they pop: This will help to release their pectin, which will give the gelatin a thicker consistency. If you don't cook the cranberries long enough, the gelatin may not set properly.
- Use a good quality gelatin: Gelatin is the key ingredient in this recipe, so it's important to use a good quality product. Look for gelatin that is unflavored and has a light color.
- Follow the recipe carefully: This recipe is easy to follow, but it's important to follow the instructions carefully to ensure that the gelatin sets properly.
- Chill the gelatin thoroughly: Once the gelatin has been set, it's important to chill it thoroughly before serving. This will help to firm up the gelatin and make it easier to slice.
Conclusion:
This Thanksgiving cranberry gelatin is a delicious and festive dessert that is perfect for any holiday gathering. It's easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time, making it a great option for busy hosts. The gelatin is also a good source of vitamin C and antioxidants, making it a healthy choice for dessert.
