THAI INSPIRED TURKEY BURGERS (LOW FAT)

Thai Inspired Turkey Burgers (Low Fat) image

This is my latest concoction in my mission to bring healthier food to my household. Over the past few weeks I have been using Fridays to try out different versions of healthier burgers. Tonight we had these Thai inspired turkey burgers. They had a fresh taste and I think it is important to use the fresh versions of the ingredients rather than dried spices to get that taste. I had mine on a bun with some crisp lettuce and some fat free mayo and ketchup. I bet they would be really nice with some sweet chili sauce in place of the ketchup and mayo though. These could easily be made up and frozen raw to have ready when short of time. Cooking time includes chilling time.

Tips:

  • Prepare Ingredients in Advance: Before you start cooking, make sure all your ingredients are prepped and ready to go. This will help you save time and ensure that your burgers are cooked evenly.
  • Use Fresh, High-Quality Ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will directly impact the flavor of your burgers. Use fresh ground turkey, and fresh vegetables and herbs for the best results.
  • Don't Overwork the Meat: When mixing the ground turkey with the other ingredients, be gentle and avoid overworking it. Overworking the meat can make the burgers tough.
  • Cook the Burgers Over Medium Heat: Cooking the burgers over medium heat will help them cook evenly and prevent them from drying out.
  • Use a Meat Thermometer: To ensure that your burgers are cooked to perfection, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The burgers should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the Burgers Rest: After cooking the burgers, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the burgers, making them more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

These Thai Turkey Burgers are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional beef burgers. They are packed with flavor and can be easily customized to your own taste. Whether you serve them on a bun with your favorite toppings or enjoy them lettuce-wrapped, these burgers are sure to be a hit. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give these Thai Turkey Burgers a try. You won't be disappointed!
