1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion
1 clove garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Thai chile sauce
1 teaspoon yellow curry paste
2 tablespoons coconut milk
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 egg
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 (1 pound) package crumbled tofu
1 (12 ounce) package vegetarian burger crumbles
1 cup chunky peanut butter
1 teaspoon Thai chile sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground turmeric
1 dash soy sauce
1 tablespoon canola oil
6 whole wheat hamburger buns
½ cup shredded carrots
½ cup shredded cucumber
1 tablespoon chopped green onion
2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves

Steps:

  • Blend the black beans, red onion, garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon chile sauce, curry paste, coconut milk, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, cayenne pepper, and egg in a food processor until smooth. Scrape the mixture into a large bowl. Fold the bread crumbs and burger crumbles into the mixture. Form the mixture into 6 patties and place on waxed paper. Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your burgers. Look for ground beef that is at least 80% lean, and use fresh herbs and vegetables.
  • Season the beef well. Don't be afraid to use a generous amount of salt and pepper, as well as other spices like garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin.
  • Handle the beef gently. Overworking the beef will make it tough. Mix the ingredients together just until they are combined, and don't overpack the patties.
  • Cook the burgers over medium-high heat. This will help to create a nice crust on the outside of the burgers while keeping the inside juicy.
  • Don't overcook the burgers. The burgers are done when they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Overcooking will make them dry and tough.
  • Let the burgers rest before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the burgers, making them more flavorful.

Conclusion:

Thai-style burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a burger that is packed with flavor and that will be sure to please everyone at your table. So next time you're looking for a new burger recipe to try, give these Thai-style burgers a try. You won't be disappointed!
