From the latest edition of Recipes+. For the dipping sauce you get 3/4 cup (assuming you would make this while the rolls are cooking so timing is included there). Our sheets of puff pastry measure 22cm to 23cm square.

THAI SAUSAGE ROLLS

Thai Sausage Rolls image

An Asian version of the old Aussie favorite. Lightly spiced and very nice! The quantity depends on the size you make, I made a smaller batch, by cutting pastry in 3 and this time I got about 40. Served with sweet chilli sauce they are delicious and I have also frozen these with great success.

Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before cooking, ensure you have all the necessary ingredients and equipment ready. This will make the cooking process smoother and more efficient.
  • Choose quality ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will significantly impact the taste of the dish. Whenever possible, use fresh, organic, and locally-sourced ingredients.
  • Perfect the seasonings: Thai dishes are known for their bold and flavorful seasonings. Taste the dish throughout the cooking process and adjust the seasonings accordingly. Don't be afraid to experiment with different combinations of herbs and spices.
  • Cook over medium heat: Many Thai dishes require cooking over medium heat to ensure the ingredients cook evenly without burning. This is especially important for dishes like stir-fries and curries.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs, such as cilantro, basil, and lemongrass, are commonly used in Thai cooking. These herbs add an aromatic and flavorful touch to the dishes. If fresh herbs are unavailable, you can use dried herbs, but they may not be as flavorful.

Conclusion:

Thai cuisine is a vibrant and flavorful culinary tradition that offers a wide range of dishes to explore. With careful preparation, attention to detail, and the use of fresh, quality ingredients, you can create authentic and delicious Thai dishes at home. Experiment with different recipes, explore new flavors, and enjoy the journey of cooking Thai food.
