Time 5m

Yield 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 tablespoons salt
3 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons black pepper
2 tablespoons chili peppers
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1/2 tablespoon white pepper
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon dried lemon peel (zest)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together. Store in air tight container until ready to use.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of spices to create a flavorful rub. Common spices used in Texas-style dry rubs include chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, and black pepper.
  • Adjust the heat level of the rub to your preference. Add more chili powder or cayenne pepper for a spicier rub, or reduce the amount for a milder rub.
  • Apply the rub to the meat at least 30 minutes before cooking. This will give the spices time to penetrate the meat and develop flavor.
  • Cook the meat over indirect heat to prevent it from drying out. If you are using a grill, place the meat on the side of the grill away from the direct heat.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the meat is cooked to your desired doneness.
  • Let the meat rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful dish.

Conclusion:

Texas dry rub is a versatile seasoning that can be used on a variety of meats. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal taste preferences. Whether you are a fan of spicy food or prefer a milder flavor, there is a Texas dry rub recipe that is perfect for you. So next time you are looking for a delicious and easy way to season your meat, give Texas dry rub a try!
