TERIYAKI PORK ROAST (CROCK-POT)
Grand Prize winner in a Simple & Delicious contest for crock-pot recipes. . .not my recipe unfortunately, but I had to post it here for safe keeping. They recommend serving it sliced with a side of hot mashed potatoes however I think it's much better atop fluffy white rice!!! This is a fabulous recipe and your end product won't have that "crock pot" flavor!!

Steps:
- Combine pineapple syrup (save pineapple chunks for later) with soy sauce, ginger, sugar, and garlic powder.
- Pour over roast.
- Cover and simmer for 3 hours; turning occasionally and adding 1/2 cup water as needed.
- When roast is done blend cornstarch into 1/4 Celsius water and stir into pan juices until thickened.
- Add the pine apple chunks and green onion.
- Simmer only until pineapple and green onion is heated but still crisp.
- When substitued round steak: cut into serving size pieces and simmer only until steak is tender (about 2-2 1/2 hours).
Tips:
- To ensure the pot roast is tender and flavorful, choose a well-marbled cut of beef, such as chuck roast or rump roast.
- Sear the pot roast in a hot skillet before braising it in the slow cooker. This will help develop a rich, browned crust and lock in the juices.
- Use a flavorful braising liquid, such as beef broth, red wine, or a combination of both. You can also add herbs, spices, and vegetables to the liquid for extra flavor.
- Cook the pot roast on low heat for 8-10 hours, or until the meat is fall-apart tender. The longer you cook it, the more tender it will be.
- Remove the pot roast from the slow cooker and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meat, making it even more tender and flavorful.
- Serve the pot roast with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad.
Conclusion:
Teriyaki pot roast is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. The combination of tender beef, flavorful teriyaki sauce, and fresh vegetables makes this dish a surefire hit. With a little planning and preparation, you can have a delicious and satisfying meal on the table in no time.
