TERIYAKI CHICKEN BURGERS
My family wasn't that thrilled with the taste of turkey burgers and I was watching my intake of beef. I started experimenting with ground chicken in my burgers and was mildly surprised with the outcome. The family likes these better than beef burgers! I usually make this when I bring the chicken home from the market. It makes for a quick meal on a weeknight. It just doesn't get any easier! These are served on Belle's® Hamburger Rolls which are totally off the hook!

Steps:
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Combine ground chicken and pineapple in a large bowl; season with salt and black pepper. Mix jalapeno pepper, pressed garlic, and 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce into the chicken mixture. Continue mixing with your hands until evenly combined.
- Cook burgers on preheated grill until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, 7 to 10 minutes per side, basting the burgers with remaining 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

EASY TERIYAKI CHICKEN BURGERS
A super simple way to make a chicken burger that zings with flavor! Sometimes it's referred to as "hawaiian-style." This has been my husband's favorite for a long time, especially at Red Robin. That got too expensive after a while so I thought I'd try making it at home instead. He loves it! These burgers have been a big hit whenever we have friends over for a barbeque.

Steps:
- 1 In a large bowl combine the patty ingredients. Mix gently with your hands, being careful not to overwork the meat. Moisten your hands with water and shape the meat into four patties, each about ¾ inch thick. With your thumb or the back of a spoon, make a shallow indentation about 1 inch wide in the center of each patty so the centers are about ½ inch thick. This will help the patties cook evenly and prevent them from puffing on the grill. Cover the patties with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour. 2 Prepare the grill for direct cooking over medium heat (350° to 450°F). 3 Lightly brush the patties with oil. Brush the cooking grates clean. Grill the patties over direct high heat, with the lid closed as much as possible, until fully cooked but still juicy, 12 to 14 minutes, turning once. During the last minute of grilling time, toast the buns over direct heat. 4 Remove the burgers and buns from the grill and serve with grilled onions, mustard, and mayonnaise, if desired.
Tips:
- To ensure the juiciness of the chicken burgers, use a combination of ground chicken thigh and breast, as the thigh meat provides more flavor and moisture. If using only breast meat, consider adding a tablespoon of mayonnaise or yogurt to the mixture for extra richness.
- For a crispy and golden-brown exterior, coat the chicken burgers in panko breadcrumbs before pan-frying. Panko breadcrumbs are Japanese-style breadcrumbs that are lighter and crispier than traditional breadcrumbs, resulting in a delightful crunch.
- To achieve a flavorful teriyaki sauce, use a blend of soy sauce, mirin, sake, and brown sugar. Mirin adds a subtle sweetness and depth of flavor, while sake provides a touch of umami. Brown sugar caramelizes during cooking, resulting in a rich and glossy sauce.
- To prevent the teriyaki sauce from burning, add a tablespoon of water or chicken broth to the pan before simmering. This will help to thin out the sauce and prevent it from sticking to the pan.
- Serve the teriyaki chicken burgers immediately after cooking, garnished with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of extra teriyaki sauce. This will ensure that the burgers are juicy and flavorful and that the toppings add an extra layer of texture and taste.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, these Teriyaki Chicken Burgers offer a delicious and satisfying meal that combines the savory flavors of Japanese cuisine with the comfort of a classic burger. The chicken burgers are juicy and tender, coated in a crispy panko crust and smothered in a flavorful teriyaki sauce. Served on soft buns with your favorite toppings, these burgers are sure to be a hit at your next backyard barbecue or casual dinner gathering. So, gather your ingredients, fire up the grill or skillet, and prepare to tantalize your taste buds with this delectable recipe.
