LOW-FAT TERIYAKI VEGETARIAN BEEF WRAPS

Low-Fat Teriyaki Vegetarian Beef Wraps image

Made this recipe as part of the 2006 Zaar World Tour challenge! Had to come up with a low-fat sandwich so I selected peacefulnightdove's recipe #142413. Make her recipe if you are not concerned about fat intake, or make mine if you are. Am posting this in response to a request. Makes a terrific sandwich, and an easy dinner. Cooking time does not include marinating time. Peacefulnightdove recommended 6-8 hours or overnight, but you can probably get away with a few minutes like I did if you use a vegetarian beef substitute.

Tips:

  • Choose the Right Cut of Beef: For the best results, use a flank steak or skirt steak. These cuts are tender and flavorful, and they cook quickly.
  • Slice the Beef Thinly: This will help the beef cook evenly and quickly.
  • Marinate the Beef: Marinating the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger will add flavor and help tenderize the meat.
  • Cook the Beef Over High Heat: This will help to create a nice sear on the outside of the beef, while keeping the inside tender and juicy.
  • Use a Non-Stick Skillet: This will help to prevent the beef from sticking to the pan.
  • Don't Overcook the Beef: Overcooked beef will be tough and chewy. Cook the beef just until it is cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Serve the Beef Wraps Immediately: Serve the beef wraps immediately, while they are still hot and juicy.

Conclusion:

Teriyaki beef wraps are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The beef is tender and flavorful, and the teriyaki sauce adds a sweet and savory flavor. These wraps are also a great way to get your daily dose of vegetables. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give teriyaki beef wraps a try. You won't be disappointed!
