EASY BEEF TERIYAKI

Easy Beef Teriyaki image

Easy 20 Minute Beef Teriyaki. Tender, juicy and smothered with a homemade teriyaki sauce. So much better than takeout!

Provided by Kelley Simmons

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 pound flank steak (sliced against the grain and cut into bite size pieces)
1/4 cup cornstarch
3 tablespoons oil (divided)
1 garlic clove (minced)
½ teaspoon ginger (minced)
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup mirin
4 tablespoons brown sugar
½ teaspoon sesame oil
a couple of dashes of fish sauce
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Toss the beef in the cornstarch and place in the fridge for 10 minutes while you are making the sauce and heating up the oil.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet.
  • When the oil is nice and hot add in the steak (I had to do two batches to avoid overcrowding the pan). Sauté until browned on both side, 3-4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan.
  • Add in garlic and ginger and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • In a small bowl combine soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, sesame oil and fish sauce.
  • Pour the soy sauce mixture into the pan and bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch and water.
  • Slowly pour in the cornstarch mixture whisking continuously. Continue to cook until your desired thickness.
  • Add steak back to the pan and toss to coat the beef with the sauce.
  • Serve immediately with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Time 6h20m

Number Of Ingredients 6

15 ounces pineapple chunks with juice
1 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 teaspoon minced ginger
1 pound skirt steak (sliced very thin (carne asada works GREAT))

Steps:

  • Mix together all ingredients, excluding beef. Set aside about 1/2 cup of the sauce, cover and refrigerate.
  • Place beef in a Ziploc bag and pour marinade over. Press out all the air, seal, and marinate for at least 6 hours (overnight works great).
  • Over prepared grill on medium-high heat, grill steak a minute or two on each size until cooked to your desired doneness (with the steak being so thin, you don't have to grill it for too long).
  • Place beef in a large bowl, pour remaining sauce over the cooked beef and stir until well covered. Serve with rice and/or grilled fresh pineapple.

Categories     Meat Appetizers

Number Of Ingredients 8

- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 clove garlic crushed
- 1 tsp. grated onion
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 3/4 lb. boneless top sirloin, cut into 1/2 inch diagonal slices
- 1 can water chestnuts, halved, 6 oz

Steps:

  • In shallow bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic, onion and wine.
  • Wrap 1 slice of meat around each water chestnut half and secure with a wooden pick. Marinate beef nuggets in soy sauce mixture for 1 hour.
  • Place nuggets in broiler pan and broil for 3 to 4 minutes on rack 5 to 8 inches from heat, turning once or twice. Serve at once.

Tips:

  • To make the best teriyaki sauce, use a high-quality soy sauce. A good soy sauce will have a rich, full flavor that will complement the other ingredients in the sauce.
  • Use fresh ginger and garlic for the best flavor. Grating or mincing the ginger and garlic will help to release their flavor into the sauce.
  • Don't be afraid to adjust the amount of brown sugar in the sauce to your liking. If you like your sauce sweeter, add more brown sugar. If you prefer a less sweet sauce, use less brown sugar.
  • Make sure to cook the beef nuggets over medium heat. This will help to prevent them from burning and will also allow the flavors of the sauce to penetrate the beef.
  • Serve the teriyaki beef nuggets with your favorite sides, such as rice, noodles, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Teriyaki beef nuggets are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a quick weeknight meal. The sweet and savory teriyaki sauce is the perfect complement to the tender beef nuggets, and the dish can be served with a variety of sides to make a complete meal. Whether you are a fan of teriyaki sauce or just looking for a new and exciting way to cook beef, you are sure to enjoy this recipe.
