PEANUT BUTTER CHEWS
Have been making these since I was 15. Served in our school cafeteria for dessert and no one ever wanted to trade. They are requested for every gathering. I even sell them at our local bar and batches of them to friends who hate to cook.

PEANUT BUTTER CHEWS
This is a easy snack. If you use the clear corn syrup this recipe is okay for any child that is on a diet where they cannot have any food coloring, dyes, or such. My ex SIL's son was on a diet for A.D.D. This was one of his favorite treats he could have.

Tips:
- Use a good quality peanut butter that is thick and creamy. This will help the chews hold their shape and give them a rich peanut butter flavor.
- If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can use the cold water test to check if the sugar syrup is ready. Drop a small amount of the syrup into a bowl of cold water. If it forms a soft ball, the syrup is ready.
- Be careful not to overcook the sugar syrup. If it gets too hot, it will turn brown and the chews will be too hard.
- Pour the sugar syrup over the peanut butter mixture slowly and in a thin stream. This will help prevent the mixture from curdling.
- Press the chews firmly into the pan. This will help them hold their shape and prevent them from crumbling.
- Let the chews cool completely before cutting them. This will help them set and make them easier to handle.
Conclusion:
Teresa's Peanut Butter Chews are a delicious and easy-to-make candy. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or just a sweet treat. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make these delicious chews that are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
