Tips:

  • Use fresh, active dry yeast. Check the expiration date on the packet before using.
  • Proof the yeast before adding it to the dough. This will help to ensure that the yeast is alive and active.
  • Use a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook to knead the dough. This will help to develop the gluten in the dough, which will make it chewy and elastic.
  • Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  • Shape the dough pieces into teddy bears. To do this, roll each piece of dough into a ball. Then, flatten the ball into a circle. Fold the top and bottom edges of the circle inward to create the ears. Pinch the sides of the circle together to create the arms and legs.
  • Place the teddy bears on a greased baking sheet.
