Swiss Meringue Buttercream for Cupcakes, mixed with 1 cup strawberry puree (from Strawberry-Cream Cheese Filling)
Rolled fondant, for decorating

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, flavorful ingredients will make your tea party cake even more delicious. Use real butter, eggs, and milk, and choose high-quality tea leaves or tea bags.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy: This will help to incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter, more tender cake.
  • Gradually add the eggs one at a time: This will help to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Sift the flour and baking powder together before adding them to the batter: This will help to ensure that the cake is light and fluffy.
  • Do not overmix the batter: Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake.
  • Bake the cake at the correct temperature: The cake should be baked at a temperature that is high enough to allow it to rise properly, but not so high that it browns too quickly.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it: This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Use a variety of decorations to make your tea party cake festive: You can use fresh flowers, edible glitter, or sprinkles to decorate your cake.
