Yield 12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound frozen cranberries
2 cups orange juice
3 cups ginger ale
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 orange, zested

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a non-reactive saucepan, (stainless steel) and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 to 45 minutes or until liquid is reduced by half.
  • Carefully puree with an immersion blender or blender until smooth. Check for seasoning and serve in small ramekins.

Tips:

  • Use fresh cranberries. Fresh cranberries have a brighter flavor than frozen cranberries, and they will hold their shape better in the sauce.
  • Simmer the sauce until it has thickened. This will take about 15 minutes. If the sauce is too thin, it will be difficult to dip.
  • Add a little bit of sugar or honey to taste. The tartness of the cranberries can be offset with a little bit of sweetness.
  • Serve the sauce warm or at room temperature. Cold sauce will be too thick to dip.
  • Garnish the sauce with fresh cranberries or a sprig of rosemary. This will add a festive touch to your dish.

Conclusion:

Tart cranberry dipping sauce is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used with a variety of foods. It is perfect for dipping cookies, crackers, fruit, and even chicken. The sauce is also a great way to add a pop of color and flavor to your holiday table. So next time you are looking for a new and exciting dipping sauce, give this tart cranberry sauce a try. You won't be disappointed!
