TANGY ASIAN MEATBALLS
This is a recipe f rom the magazine "All You". It is meant to be cooked in a slow-cooker, but may be pan fried also if you do not own a slow cooker. I changed it slightly when I tried it, and substituted ground turkey for the pork. Here is the original recipe as published.

Steps:
- Combine pork, panko, scallions, egg, soy sauce, ginger and garlic in a large bowl; mix gently but thoroughly with your fingers. Roll into 1-inch balls.
- Mist slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Add meatballs. In a small bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, plum sauce and hoisin sauce; pour over meatballs. Gently stir to coat.
- Cover and cook on low until meatballs are cooked through, 3 to 5 hours.
Tips
- Choose the right meat: Ground pork or chicken are classic choices for Asian meatballs, but you can also use beef, turkey, or a combination of meats. For a more flavorful meatball, use a combination of dark and light meat.
- Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the tastier your meatballs will be. If possible, use fresh ginger, garlic, and herbs.
- Don't overmix the meatball mixture: Overmixing can make the meatballs tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Chill the meatball mixture before cooking: Chilling the meatball mixture helps the meatballs hold their shape while cooking.
- Cook the meatballs over medium heat: Cooking the meatballs over medium heat helps prevent them from browning too quickly and becoming dry.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the meatballs are cooked through: The meatballs are done cooking when they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Serve the meatballs with your favorite Asian sauce: Some popular options include sweet and sour sauce, teriyaki sauce, or hoisin sauce.
Conclusion
Tangy Asian meatballs are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, main course, or snack. They are easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect Asian meatballs every time.
