KING'S HAWAIIAN CHEESY SWISS ONION GARLIC BREAD
This is a recipe that I found in a church cookbook a few years back. I almost always serve this with home-made soup or chili for a delicious, satisfying meal. Sometimes I like to add chopped ham with the swiss and red onion for a nice change of pace from your ordinary soup and sandwich. Enjoy! Peg

PASTA WITH CARAMELIZED ONION, SWISS CHARD AND GARLICKY BREAD CRUMBS
The warm, nutty flavor of good varieties of whole wheat pasta is robust enough to stand up to intense, complicated sauces, yet satisfying with just a little butter and Parmesan shaved over the top.

Our granddaughter, Lena, used this recipe as part of her 4-H project, and it was very well received. The slight crunch from poppy seeds pairs well with the creamy Swiss cheese.

Tips:
- Activate the yeast first: Before adding the yeast to the dough, dissolve it in warm milk or water with a little sugar. This will help to activate the yeast and ensure that it is working properly.
- Knead the dough well: Kneading the dough helps to develop the gluten, which gives bread its structure and elasticity. Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place: After kneading the dough, place it in a warm place to rise. This will allow the yeast to ferment the dough and cause it to double in size. The ideal temperature for rising dough is between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Punch down the dough before shaping: Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down to release the air. This will help to prevent the bread from being too dense.
- Shape the dough into a loaf: After punching down the dough, shape it into a loaf. You can use a bread pan or a free-form loaf shape.
- Let the dough rise again: After shaping the dough, let it rise again until it has doubled in size. This will help to ensure that the bread is light and fluffy.
- Bake the bread: Bake the bread in a preheated oven until it is golden brown. The baking time will vary depending on the size and shape of the loaf.
