10 ounces extra dark bittersweet chocolate
6 tablespoons butter
3 egg yolks
1/4 cup sugar
1 -2 teaspoon cognac or 1 -2 teaspoon orange juice
8 ounces cream
cocoa powder, to dust

Steps:

  • Break up the chocolate. Melt it, together with the butter, in a sauce pan.
  • With a hand mixer, beat the egg yolks and sugar for at least 10 minutes until it becomes a light-colored thick mixture. Carefully fold in the liquid chocolate and butter. Flavor by adding the cognac. Beat the cream until it is stiff and fold into mixture.
  • Line a 5 inch × 5 inch mold with cling film. Pour the mixture into the mold and keep in the refrigerator for a minimum of 6 hours to set.
  • Before serving, remove from the mold. Use a wet knife dipped in hot water to cut into 1 inch square pieces. Dust with cocoa powder. It is essential to keep this dish cool until it is served.

1 cup water;1 stick of butter
1 1/2 squares unswett choc.,2 cups sugar & flour,1/2 cup sour cream, 2 lg eggs,1/2 tsp salt,1 tsp. of baking soda & pure vanilla. FROSTING: 1 stick butter,1 lbs box of conf. sugar, 6 tbsp milk, 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 sq unsweet choc

Steps:

  • combine flour & sugar in lrg. bowl;set aside. combine 1 stick of butter, 1 1/2 sq. choc and water in small saucepan. over med heat, bring to boil. remove from heat; add to flour & sugar. mix well; add sour cream, eggs,soda, salt;mix well. pour in 13x9 greased pan. bake in preheated 375 oven for 25-30 min. frosting: combine 1 stick butter, 1 1/2 sq. of choc & 6 tbsp milk in saucepan. stir frequently till boils. boil for 1 min. remove from heat; add conf sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla. stir well. pour over warm cake. cool & enjoy!!
