Combine melted butter and Stovetop in a small bowl (moisten a little more with some warm water if it seems too dry) and scoop over top of chicken. Cover tightly with foil and bake 30-35 minutes.
Tips:
- To achieve the crispiest chicken, make sure the chicken breasts are patted dry before dredging them in the flour mixture.
- Use a heavy skillet or Dutch oven to evenly brown the chicken. A well-seasoned cast iron skillet works great.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when browning the chicken. If necessary, cook the chicken in batches.
- To prevent the chicken from sticking to the pan, make sure the oil is hot before adding the chicken.
- Cook the chicken over medium heat until it is golden brown and cooked through. A meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken should read 165°F (74°C).
- The Swiss cheese sauce is best when made with freshly grated Swiss cheese. Pre-shredded cheese can be used, but it will not melt as smoothly.
- For a richer sauce, use half-and-half or heavy cream instead of milk.
- Serve the chicken and Swiss cheese sauce over cooked pasta, rice, or vegetables.
