Tips:
- Choose firm, tart apples that will hold their shape during baking, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn.
- To easily core the apples, use an apple corer or a sharp knife to remove the center core and seeds.
- Be careful not to cut all the way through the bottom of the apples, as you want them to be able to stand upright when stuffed.
- If you are using a microwave to cook the sweet potatoes, be sure to pierce them with a fork several times before cooking to prevent them from exploding.
- If you are roasting the sweet potatoes in the oven, toss them with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper before roasting for optimal flavor.
- Feel free to add other ingredients to the sweet potato filling, such as chopped nuts, dried fruit, or crumbled bacon.
- Serve the stuffed apples immediately, topped with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a drizzle of honey.
Conclusion:
Sweet potato stuffed apples are a delicious and healthy fall treat that are perfect for a special breakfast, brunch, or dessert. They are easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With their sweet and savory filling and crispy apple exterior, these stuffed apples are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
