Categories     Other Breakfast

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 small banana broken into chunks
1/2 small frozen banana, broken into chunks (can microwave for 15 sec to break up)
1/2 c (4 slices approx) canned peach in lite juice. reserve juice to have on hand for later
1/2 c strawberries, fresh or frozen (optional)
1/2 c apples, diced (optional)
1/2 c plain low fat or greek yogurt
splash of low fat milk
1 Tbsp reserved peach juice
1 tsp honey or splenda packet
1/2 tsp vanilla extract, between 1/2 and 3/4 tsp
1 Tbsp wheat germ (optional)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 dash(es) nutmeg
2 c ice cubes

Steps:

  • 1. Place 1 cup of the ice cubes and pulse to get them going. Add about half of the ice cubes, and bananas, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and pulse to blend smoothie, about 15 seconds. Add remaining ice, vanilla extract, peaches, strawberries(optional), Apples(optional),peach juice, yogurt with a splash of low fat milk and wheat germ(optional), Pulse to blend these to desired consistency. You want everything blended but have a little testure from the last round of ice. Pour into a glass or to go beverage container and enjoy!
  • 2. Note: When I have bananas that I know are ready to be frozen (outside is turning dark). Peel them, and place into individual bags. Some, I break up or slice up and freeze, some cut in half, some left whole. Each bag will contain 1 banana to avoid confusion, or if different, label it. These bags can then be placed into a large freezer bag to avoid any frost. It makes knowing that it is all done for you, you just reach in, grab a bag, plop into your blender with your other ingredients, pour into your glass and go.

Tips:

  • For a smoother smoothie, use frozen peaches instead of fresh ones.
  • Add a scoop of protein powder to make the smoothie more filling and nutritious.
  • If you don't have agave nectar, you can substitute honey or maple syrup.
  • Feel free to add other fruits to the smoothie, such as bananas, strawberries, or blueberries.
  • If you want a thicker smoothie, add more yogurt or ice.

Conclusion:

This sweet peach smoothie is a delicious and refreshing way to start your day. It's packed with nutrients and antioxidants, and it's sure to leave you feeling satisfied and energized.
