JERUSALEM SWEET-HOT NOODLE CASSEROLE/ YERUSHALMI KUGEL
This is a very unique dish that can be found all over Jerusalem. It is a noodle casserole with carmelized sugar and lots of black pepper. Serve this warm as a different kind of side dish. I originally got this recipe from a community cookbook that was given to me along with all the other brides that got married that same year. Recipe is from Susie Gale with only a minor change.

MRS. MARKOVITZ'S SWEET NOODLE KUGEL
When I lived in Pittsburgh, Mrs. Markovitz was my downstairs neighbor and landlord and a great cook. The smells from her house were amazing. This was one of her specialities especially around the Jewish New Year. The topping makes this irresistable!

MY OWN SPICY SWEET NOODLE KUGEL
I love kugel, a Jewish noodle pudding. I used the ingredient list for RSC#18 to inspire this one. Instead of raisins, I used mango. The allspice & ginger add a nice little kick. This is very easy to assemble. My family really loved this & I hope you do, too!

MICROWAVE SWEET NOODLE KUGEL
What really brought me to this recipe is that it uses uncooked noodles. The standing time is very important, because if you are too impatient the noodles will come out a little too al dente to your liking.

SWEET POTATO BOURBON NOODLE KUGEL
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Wrap sweet potatoes individually in foil and roast in the oven until soft and completely cooked through, about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Let cool completely. Peel skin off sweet potatoes using your hands (and a table knife, if it helps), then puree with the bourbon in a blender or food processor until completely smooth. This should yield about 3 cups of puree. If you yield more than 3 cups, set the excess aside for another use or discard. (If you want, you can do this ahead and refrigerate the puree for up to 2 days.) Lower oven to 350°F. In a pot of heavily salted water, cook the egg noodles al dente (about 5 minutes, or 2 minutes less than the package directions say). Pour into a colander to drain, running cold water over the noodles until they are cool to stop the cooking. Drain thoroughly. In a very large bowl, beat eggs, then add brown sugar and beat just until combined. Add cottage cheese, melted butter, and the sweet potato puree, then mix with a rubber spatula until combined. Finally, add salt and the cooked noodles, and mix with a spatula until combined. Pour noodle mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake uncovered for 50 minutes (if noodles start to brown during this time, cover your baking dish with foil). While kugel is baking, prepare the pecan topping: First, put the cornflakes in a Ziploc bag and crush with your hands. The cornflakes should be in small pieces, bu

SWEET CREAM CHEESE NOODLE KUGEL RECIPE - (4.4/5)
Provided by á-4084
Number Of Ingredients 11
Steps:
- Set oven to 350°F and set oven rack to middle position. Butter a 13x9-inch baking dish. Cook egg noodles in a pot until tender-firm, about 6 to 7 minutes; drain and set aside. Place sour cream, cream cheese, cottage cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt in a food processor and process until blended, about 20 seconds. Add the eggs and butter and process until incorporated, about 5 seconds more. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the noodles in a large bowl then add the raisins and toss all together. Spread kugel evenly into the prepared pan. In a small bowl or cup combine 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon then and sprinkle on top. Bake on center oven rack until the top is crisp and the center is firm and risen, and a tester comes out dry when inserted in the middle, about 45 to 50 minutes. Cool at least 30 minutes before serving.
Tips:
- Use Fresh Noodles: Fresh noodles, such as egg noodles or wide egg noodles, will give your kugel the best texture.
- Boil Noodles Al Dente: Don't overcook the noodles, as they will continue to cook in the oven.
- Use a Generous Amount of Butter: Butter adds richness and flavor to the kugel.
- Sweeten to Taste: The amount of sugar you add to the kugel is a matter of personal preference. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
- Don't Overmix: Overmixing the kugel can make it tough.
- Bake Until Golden Brown: The kugel is done baking when it is golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Conclusion:
Sweet noodle kugel is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a side dish or a dessert. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like your kugel sweet, sour, or somewhere in between, there's a recipe out there for you. So next time you're looking for a new and exciting way to enjoy noodles, give sweet noodle kugel a try. You won't be disappointed!
