Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: For the best flavor and texture, use a high-quality pork sausage with a good amount of fat. Italian sausage is a popular choice, but you can also use breakfast sausage, kielbasa, or even chicken sausage.
  • Slice the sausage thinly: This will help the sausage cook evenly and absorb the sauce better.
  • Brown the sausage before adding the sauce: This will help to develop the flavor of the sausage and prevent it from becoming dry.
  • Use a good quality sweet and sour sauce: There are many different brands and varieties of sweet and sour sauce available, so choose one that you like the taste of. You can also make your own sweet and sour sauce using a few simple ingredients.
  • Add vegetables to the sauce: Vegetables such as bell peppers, onions, and pineapple are popular additions to sweet and sour sauce. They add flavor, texture, and color to the dish.
  • Serve over rice or noodles: Sweet and sour sausage is traditionally served over rice or noodles. White rice, brown rice, or egg noodles are all good choices.
