HAWAIIAN BREAD RECIPE

Hawaiian Bread Recipe image

You'll love this Hawaiian bread recipe! We found the crust to be extra flaky and the bread had a cake-like texture. Yum!!

Provided by Marsha Perry

Categories     Bread Machine Recipes

Number Of Ingredients 8

¾ cup pineapple juice
1 egg (beaten)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons milk
2 ½ Tablespoons sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
1 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast

Steps:

  • This makes a two-pound loaf.
  • Follow the instructions that came with your bread machine in terms of which ingredients to put in the bread machine first. (My bread machine recommends adding the liquids first.) Use the basic or sweet setting.
  • I made mine with the bread machine set at medium crust. It came out a little darker than I'd like. The next time I'm going to use the light crust setting.
  • Check on the dough after five or ten minutes of kneading. It should be a smooth, round ball. If it's too dry add liquid a teaspoon at a time until it looks OK. If it looks too wet, add flour a tablespoon at a time until it looks OK. Most of the time though, the above amounts should be just right.

HAWAIIAN SWEET BREAD

Hawaiian Sweet Bread image

The mother of a high school friend would make 13 loaves of this lightly sweet Hawaiian bread recipe at a time! I make this bread year-round, but my family insists it's a "must" for the holidays. -Ruthie Banks, Prescott, Arizona

Provided by Taste of Home

Time 1h

Yield 3 loaves (12 wedges each).

Number Of Ingredients 12

Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-1/4 hours., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide into thirds. Shape each into a ball. Place in 3 greased 9-in. round baking pans lined with parchment. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°. BREAD MACHINE RECIPE FOR KINGS HAWAIIAN BREAD

Bread Machine Recipe for Kings Hawaiian Bread image

Thanks for all of the feed back, I made this this today after converting it from weights, to standard measurements and it tasted good, but was just a little dense. So I increased the yeast by 1/2 tsp. I hope you enjoy this recipe.

Provided by John West

Categories     Sweet Breads

Time 3h30m

Number Of Ingredients 11

3/4 c water, warm
1 large egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp butter, melted
6 1/2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp instant yeast
1/3 c instant potato flakes, dry
1/3 c powdered milk
3 c bread flour
4 tsp vital wheat gluten

Steps:

  • 1. This is a very straight forward process. Add all of the liquids into your bread machine first, then the solids.
  • 2. Because this recipe has egg as an ingredient, do not put your machine on a delay timer, start the machine on the sweet bread cycle right after you have all of the ingredients in the bread machine.
  • 3. This bread has sugar in it, so when it's done baking, remove the bread from the machine. If your machine has a keep warm cycle at the end, it may get your bread overly browned.
  • 4. After removing the bread from the machine, let it cool on a rack for a while before cutting. Enjoy !

HAWAIIAN SWEET ROLLS (BREAD MACHINE)

Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (Bread Machine) image

Every time I make these rolls, I get raving compliments! This is an excellent potluck dish! It is very important to use McCormick brand coconut extract for the right flavor! For the fluffiest rolls, make sure all the ingredients and the kitchen are warm. This was intended to be a copycat of King's Hawaiian Rolls, but according to my husband, these taste way better when done right!

Provided by Pale Rose

Categories     Breads

Time 3h20m

Yield 12-15 rolls, 12-15 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup 100% pineapple juice
1 large egg
1/3 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1 -2 teaspoon mccormick coconut extract
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup potato flakes
3 1/2 cups flour
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
butter, for brushing on roll tops

Steps:

  • Bring all cold ingredients to room temperature (pineapple juice, egg, milk, butter). This will take about 30 minutes, but you can speed it up a little bit with the microwave if you're not feeling patient.
  • Add the pineapple juice to your bread machine.
  • Beat the egg and add to your bread machine.
  • Add the milk to your bread machine.
  • Divide the butter into small pieces (no larger than 1 tablespoon) and add to the bread machine.
  • Add McCormick coconut extract, ground ginger, salt, sugar, potato flakes, and flour to the bread machine, in that order.
  • Make a small well in the flour, and pour the yeast in the well.
  • Run your bread machine on the dough cycle to knead the dough.
  • After the kneading cycle, let the dough rise until doubled in size - about 1 hour. (I let mine rise in the bread machine).
  • Grease a 13"x9" pan.
  • Divide the dough into 12-15 rolls and place next to each other in the pan (this will get them soft sides).
  • IMPORTANT! Sometimes the dough will be a little sticky to handle while you're doing this (and that's okay!). Do NOT even think about adding more flour! I mean it! I can't stress that enough! It will toughen your rolls. You can try greasing your hands with cooking spray if you want them to be easier to handle. If that still doesn't work, then just enjoy the stickiness knowing that your rolls will be nice and fluffy!
  • Cover with a towel and let rise until doubled in size - about 1 hour - in a warm place. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Bake rolls in preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden on top.
  • Immediately upon removing the rolls from the oven, brush the tops with butter.
  • Let cool in the pan until the rolls are cool enough to handle. Then remove from pan.
  • TIP: If you will not be eating the rolls right away, transfer the rolls to a large enough bowl to hold them. Place a lid on top and vent it, taking care that no rolls touch the lid. Closing the airflow off while they are warm will make the rolls soggy. Leaving them out in open air will make the rolls crusty. Keeping them in a vented bowl until they are completely cool is very important for obtaining soft rolls! Once the rolls are completely cool, seal the bowl.

Tips:

  • Selecting the Right Mango: Opt for ripe, firm, and fragrant mangoes. Avoid fruits with blemishes or bruises.
  • Preparing the Mango: Peel and dice the mango into small pieces to ensure even distribution throughout the bread.
  • Measuring Ingredients Accurately: Use a kitchen scale to measure ingredients for precise results, especially for items like yeast and salt.
  • Activating the Yeast: If using active dry yeast, activate it in warm water with a pinch of sugar before adding it to the bread machine.
  • Choosing the Right Bread Machine Setting: Select the "sweet" or "fruit bread" setting on your bread machine. This will adjust the kneading and baking times accordingly.
  • Adding the Ingredients: Follow the recommended order of adding ingredients to the bread machine. Typically, wet ingredients go in first, followed by dry ingredients and yeast.
  • Monitoring the Bread: During the kneading process, check the dough to ensure it's not too dry or too wet. Adjust the consistency by adding a tablespoon of flour or water as needed.
  • Baking Time: Allow the bread to bake completely according to the bread machine's recommended time. This will ensure the bread is cooked thoroughly.
  • Cooling and Storing: Let the bread cool in the bread machine for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Indulge in the tropical flavors of Hawaii with this delightful Sweet Hawaiian Mango Yeast Bread. The combination of ripe mangoes, coconut milk, and pineapple juice creates a moist, flavorful, and aromatic loaf that will transport your taste buds to paradise.
