Tips:

  • Choose the right type of mince. Beef mince is the traditional choice for Bolognese sauce, but you can also use pork, lamb, or turkey mince. If you're using a leaner mince, you may need to add some extra oil to the pan when browning it.
  • Brown the mince properly. This is essential for developing the flavor of the sauce. Make sure the mince is evenly browned all over before adding the other ingredients.
  • Use a good quality passata. Passata is a tomato sauce made from strained tomatoes. It's important to use a good quality passata that has a rich, deep flavor.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to develop and deepen. The longer you simmer the sauce, the better it will taste.
  • Add a little sweetness to the sauce. This can be done with a variety of ingredients, such as carrots, onions, or red wine. A little sweetness will help to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes.
  • Season the sauce to taste. Add salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices to taste. You can also adjust the sweetness and acidity of the sauce by adding more sugar or vinegar.

Conclusion:

Sweet chili Bolognese is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It's also a great way to use up leftover mince. Serve it with spaghetti, rice, or your favorite pasta.
