SWEET CHERRITY PIE
This is so yummy!! A family favorite! We usually have this at the holidays, but also at Presidents day coming up! It would also be a lovely dessert for Valentines Day. I believe the original source was a Pillsbury Cookoff Booklet. Prep time is a guestimate. Cook time includes chilling time.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a 13x9 pan combine crust ingredients.
- Bake for 15- 20 minutes or until golden brown; stirring once during baking.
- Remove from oven.
- Reserve 1/2 c.
- of crumb mixture for topping.
- Using a spoon, firmly press remaining warm crumb mixture into an ungreased 9 inch pie plate.
- Chill.
- In a medium mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, almond extract and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spread over cooled crust.
- Fold pie filling into whipped cream.
- Spoon over cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
- Chill 1 to 2 hours before serving.

Picture and recipe came of a pillsbury bake off in the early 70's..I many of these little cookbooks, all have become some of my favorites to cook from..

- 1. Heat oven to 375. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan, combine first 4 ingredients. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown; stir once while baking. Reserve 1/2 cup crumbs for top. Using spoon, firmly press remaining warm crumb mixture into ungreased 9 or 10 inch pie pan. Chill Crust.
- 2. In medium bowl, blend first 3 filling ingredients until smooth. Spread over crust. Fold fruit filling into whipped cream. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Chill 1 to 2 hours before serving. Store in refrigerator.
- 3. *TIP...VERY IMPORTANT! Do not use frozen whipped topping, such as cool whip in this recipe.
