SPICY BAKED BEANS
Tangy and sweet old-fashioned baked beans with a little jalapeno. They're easy to make and great at a BBQ, hamburger night, a picnic, etc. My husband's favorite semi-homemade recipe. Says the sweetness and fire create a super depth of flavor. It's not strong enough to overwhelm the sweet home-style of baked beans.

SWEET AND SPICY BAKED BEANS
These are a delicious blend of sweet and spicy. Use the greater amount of molasses if you like a thicker sweeter taste like I do :). I wrote down this recipe from a magazine ( I can't remember which one), and tweaked it just a little.

Tips:

- Be sure to soak the beans overnight before cooking. This will help to reduce the cooking time and make the beans more digestible.
- If you don't have time to soak the beans overnight, you can quick-soak them by boiling them for 2 minutes, then removing them from the heat and letting them sit for 1 hour.
- When cooking the beans, be sure to add plenty of liquid. The beans should be covered with at least 2 inches of liquid.
- Season the beans with your favorite herbs and spices. Some good options include garlic, onion, cumin, chili powder, and smoked paprika.
- Once the beans are cooked, let them cool slightly before serving. This will help to prevent them from breaking apart.
Conclusion:
Sweet and spicy baked red beans are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great source of protein, fiber, and vitamins. So next time you're looking for a hearty and satisfying meal, give this recipe a try.
