2/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped fine
1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons sugar

  • Beat in vanilla and eggs.
  • Sift the flour with baking powder and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  • Add to egg mixture and blend well.
  • Chill for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine walnuts, cinnamon and sugar.
  • Roll chilled dough into sugar.
  • Place cookies on greased and floured baking sheets about 3 inches apart. Bake about 12 minutes. Cool on racks.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the cookies will taste. Use real butter, fresh eggs, and high-quality cinnamon.
  • Chill the dough: Chilling the dough helps to develop the flavor and makes the cookies less likely to spread. Be sure to chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • Roll the dough out evenly: Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough to an even thickness. This will help the cookies to bake evenly.
  • Cut the cookies into even shapes: Use a cookie cutter to cut the cookies into even shapes. This will help them to bake evenly and look more appealing.
  • Bake the cookies until they are golden brown: The cookies are done baking when they are golden brown around the edges. Be careful not to overbake them, or they will become dry and crumbly.
