PASTA SALAD SUPREME

Pasta Salad Supreme image

I don't even remember how long I've had this great recipe for pasta salad, but I know it's been over thirty years. It was given to me by a friend, when we lived in Michigan, and I've made it ever since, to the delight of my family! The basics for this pasta are simple...your favorite pasta, Italian dressing, McCormick's Salad...

Provided by Angela (Grammy) Derby

Categories     Pasta Salads

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (12oz.) box rotini or your favorite salad pasta
8 oz zesty italian salad dressing
1/3 jar(s) mccormick's salad supreme seasoning
1/2 c cucumber, chopped
1/2 c green pepper, chopped
1 medium purple or red onion, chopped
1 medium firm red tomato, cubed
3/4 c green onions, chopped (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Boil pasta in large pot until al dente; drain. Do not rinse, let cool for a few minutes.
  • 2. Add Italian dressing and 1/3 jar of Salad Supreme seasoning. (This mixture can marinate a few hours or overnight before continuing.)
  • 3. Mix in chopped vegetables (and any other goodies you like) and chill. I usually will add ham, salami, mozzarella, olives, artichoke hearts or anything else I have in the pantry that "floats my boat". Haha!
  • 4. You might like to add a couple of tablespoons of grated Romano or Parmesan for extra flavor.

SUPREME PIZZA PASTA SALAD

Supreme Pizza Pasta Salad image

This recipe comes straight from Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals. It really does taste like a Supreme Pizza. The best part is, you make it the day before you want to serve it and refrigerate. The cook time, is really chill time. I put down 2 hours, but it is really better the next day. NOTE: The original recipe calls for a pound of mozzarella cheese, but I only use 1/2 pound. If you like a lot of cheese...go for a pound!!!!

SUPREME PASTA SALAD

Supreme Pasta Salad image

An Italian pasta salad with meat, cheese, veggies. Try switching out different ingredients, I usually use what I have on hand, so the recipe changes a bit, but this is my favorite version. I like it better when the veggies are chopped small. It takes a long time to chop up the veggies, so sometimes I like to throw them in the food processor and pulse them a few times. Enjoy!

PIZZA PASTA SALAD

Pizza Pasta Salad image

I love experimenting with cold pasta salads. This one was such a success I kept running back to the fridge to get more, so I think I'll wait a little bit before making another batch. Measurements are a guessing game for me 'cuz I never measure anything (you shouldn't either) and this always turns out killer !

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Fresh vegetables, quality pasta, and flavorful cheese will make a big difference.
  • Don't overcook the pasta. Cook it al dente, according to the package directions.
  • Let the pasta cool slightly before assembling the salad. This will help prevent the pasta from becoming mushy.
  • Use a variety of vegetables in your salad. This will add color, flavor, and texture.
  • Don't be afraid to get creative with your toppings. You can add grilled chicken, shrimp, or tofu for protein, or chopped nuts or seeds for crunch.
  • Serve the salad immediately, or chill it for later. It's a great make-ahead dish for picnics or potlucks.

Conclusion:

Supreme Pizza Pasta Salad is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for summer gatherings. It's packed with flavor from the pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, and olives, and the creamy Italian dressing brings it all together. Whether you serve it as a main course or a side dish, this salad is sure to be a hit.
