Time 35m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb ground chuck
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (30 ounce) can refried beans
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
3/4 cup taco sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Cook ground chuck with onion.
  • Spread refried beans in a 2 quart casserole.
  • Top with meat.
  • Top with green chilies.
  • Cover evenly with cheese.
  • Pour taco sauce over all.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes.
  • Garnish with your choice of chopped green onions, olives, avocado dip or sour cream.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chips: Sturdy chips that can hold up to the weight of toppings are best. Tortilla chips, plantain chips, or pita chips are all good options.
  • Don't overload the nachos: Too many toppings can make the nachos soggy and difficult to eat. Layer the toppings evenly so that each bite has a good balance of flavors and textures.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs will give your nachos the best flavor. Avoid using canned or frozen ingredients whenever possible.
  • Be creative with your toppings: There are endless possibilities when it comes to nacho toppings. Get creative and experiment with different flavors and textures. Some popular options include:
    • Cheese: Cheddar, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or a combination of cheeses.
    • Meat: Ground beef, shredded chicken, or pulled pork.
    • Vegetables: Bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, jalapeƱos, or avocado.
    • Sauces: Salsa, guacamole, sour cream, or pico de gallo.
    • Other toppings: Olives, black beans, corn, or crumbled bacon.
  • Broil the nachos until the cheese is melted and bubbly: This will help to hold the toppings in place and make the nachos easier to eat.

Conclusion:

Nachos are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or a quick and easy meal. With a little creativity, you can easily create your own unique nacho recipe that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a fun and easy meal, give nachos a try!
