1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Pinch ground cinnamon

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%. Dark chocolate will yield a more intense flavor than milk chocolate.
  • Use whole milk or cream instead of water to make the hot chocolate creamier and more decadent.
  • Sweeten the hot chocolate to taste, using sugar, honey, or maple syrup. You can also add a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness.
  • For a fun twist, add a flavoring agent such as vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, or peppermint extract.
  • Serve the hot chocolate immediately, topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
