SAUTEED FRESH CORN
Steps:
- Remove the husks and the silk from the corn and cut the kernels off as close to the husk as possible without removing any of the husk. You should have about 7 cups of kernels.
- Melt the butter in a large, heavy saute pan. Add the corn, salt, and pepper and saute uncovered on medium-low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until all the starchiness in the corn is gone. Taste, for salt and pepper, and serve.
Tips:
- Choose the freshest corn possible. Look for ears with bright green husks and plump kernels.
- Remove the husks and silks just before cooking. This will help to keep the corn fresh and flavorful.
- Cook the corn over medium heat. This will help to prevent the kernels from becoming tough or chewy.
- Add the herbs and spices towards the end of cooking. This will help to preserve their flavor and aroma.
- Serve the corn immediately. This is when it is at its best, both in terms of flavor and texture.
Conclusion:
Summer corn sauté is a delicious and easy side dish that is perfect for any summer gathering. It is made with fresh corn, herbs, and spices, and can be cooked in just a few minutes.
