Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 tablespoon water
350g banana (approx 2.5 medium bananas)
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup oats
1/2 cup plain flour

Steps:

  • Pop the chia seeds into the water and leave to stand for 10-15 minutes (they should begin to gel in this time)
  • In a medium bowl mash the banana
  • Stir through the soaked chia seeds and vanilla
  • Add the oats, and flour, mix well. This should form a cookie dough with a quite a moist sticky texture.
  • Use a tablespoon to scoop the mixture, place dollops onto a baking paper lined tray. The mix will be quite sticky so forming perfect shapes will be tricky. I find damp hands is a good idea with this mix, (I get 20 tablespoons from this recipe), place the balls on a lined baking tray
  • Bake at 180 degrees Celsius (approx 360 F) for 25-30 mins, allow to cool
  • The cookies should have a soft texture
  • Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months and thaw as needed

SUGARLESS OATMEAL BANANA COOKIES- GREAT FOR BABIES!

Sugarless Oatmeal Banana Cookies- Great for Babies! image

I made these for my 10 month old son! i broke it apart into finger food size pieces and he gobbled it up! I plan on trying this with veggies as well! *NOTE: the oats look really dry but are fine after they are pureed. These are best warmed up a little and are more like a bread. The dough looks more like pancake batter.

SUGAR-FREE OATMEAL BANANA RAISIN COOKIES

Sugar-Free Oatmeal Banana Raisin Cookies image

I was searching for something sugar-free to take to a bake sale, and came across a recipe similar to this online. This is my modified version of that recipe. These sold quickly at the bake sale! They have a granola-like appearance and are soft and chewy. A little cinnamon added in might be good, too.

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: Ripened bananas have a sweeter flavor and will help to bind the cookies together.
  • Mash the bananas well: Make sure to mash the bananas until they are completely smooth. This will help to ensure that the cookies have a uniform texture.
  • Add a little bit of cinnamon or vanilla extract: These spices will help to enhance the flavor of the cookies.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help to make the cookies less likely to spread in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies at a moderate temperature: A moderate temperature will help to prevent the cookies from burning.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving: This will help to ensure that the cookies hold their shape.
