Time 20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon cold water
2 tablespoons boiling water
1 cup Splenda granular, sugar substitute
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (Ghiradelli preferred)
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
whipped cream, lightly sweetened with splenda (optional topping)
light dusting unsweetened cocoa powder

Steps:

  • Preparation:.
  • Chill a medium mixing bowl in the refrigerator.
  • Meanwhile, place the cold water in a small bowl. Sprinkle with gelatin and let stand 1 minute. Add boiling water and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Set aside.
  • In the chilled bowl, combine Splenda, cocoa powder, salt, whipping cream and vanilla until roughly mixed. With an electric mixer on medium speed, beat mixture until it becomes stiff. Do not over-beat or you will end up with chocolate butter. Beat in the gelatin mixture just until combined.

Tips for Making the Best Sugar-Free Chocolate Mousse:

  • Use high-quality dark chocolate. The better the chocolate, the better the mousse will be. Look for a chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Make sure the cream is cold. Cold cream will whip up better and create a lighter, fluffier mousse.
  • Don't overbeat the cream. Overbeaten cream will become grainy and lumpy.
  • Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently. Overmixing will deflate the mousse and make it less fluffy.
  • Chill the mousse for at least 2 hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the mousse to set.

Conclusion:

This sugar-free chocolate mousse is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you prefer a rich and dark chocolate mousse or a lighter and airy mousse, this recipe has you covered. So next time you are craving a chocolatey treat, give this sugar-free chocolate mousse a try. You won't be disappointed!
