1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 small green pepper, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 envelope ranch dip mix
3/4 cup sour cream
1 loaf (about 8 ounces) French bread
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler. In a large skillet, cook beef, mushrooms, pepper and onion over medium-high heat until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles, 8-10 minutes; drain. Stir in dip mix and sour cream., Cut French bread horizontally in half; place halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Broil 3-4 in. from heat until lightly toasted, 1-2 minutes. 1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
6 to 8 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup sour cream
8 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, cook beef, onion and mushrooms over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add bacon and garlic. 2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 cup sour cream
8 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add bacon and garlic.

I ran across this wonderful recipe several years ago in a Taste of Home magazine (I think). I made a few changes to suit our taste and my family and friends love them. I have served them many times to many people and they always ask for the recipe. I usually serve a tossed salad as a side. Leftovers heat up well in the big oven...

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb ground beef
1/4 c onion, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder (i use more)
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 c sour cream, plus more
1 1/2 c shredded cheese, your choice
1 box garlic texas toast

Steps:

  • 1. Brown beef & onion in skillet, drain & leave beef in skillet. Add salt, garlic powder & pepper.
  • 2. Remove skillet from heat and add sour cream.
  • 3. Spoon good amount (use your own judgement) onto the Texas toast. Sprinkle cheese (again, use your own judgement) over beef mixture.
  • 4. Bake @ 350 for approximately 15-20 minutes or until bread edges begin to lightly brown.
  • 5. Serve with a dollop of sour cream on top. You can also sprinkle diced tomatoes &/or bell peppers on top. Sauted mushrooms would also be good.
