2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup sliced strawberries
2 tablespoons 1% low-fat milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
Cooking spray
Buttered Strawberry Sauce
BUTTERED STRAWBERRY SAUCE
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 (11.5-ounce) can strawberry-banana nectar
1 tablespoon stick margarine or butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups sliced strawberries

Steps:

  • Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl; make a well in center of mixture. Place strawberries, milk, oil, vanilla, and egg in a blender; process until smooth. Add puréed strawberry mixture to flour mixture, stirring just until moist. Coat a waffle iron with cooking spray; preheat. Spoon about 1/4 cup batter per 4- inch waffle onto hot waffle iron; spread batter to edges. Cook 5 to 6 minutes or until steaming stops; repeat with remaining batter. Serve hot with warm Buttered Strawberry Sauce. Serving Size: 1 waffle and 1/2 cup sauce _____________________ To Make Buttered Strawberry Sauce: Combine the first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in margarine, vanilla, and strawberries. Yield: 3 cups Serving Size: 1/2 cup

Tips:

  • Use fresh strawberries: Fresh strawberries have the best flavor and texture for waffles. If you don't have fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries that have been thawed and drained.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the waffles tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Cook the waffles on a hot waffle iron: A hot waffle iron will help the waffles cook evenly and get crispy.
  • Serve the waffles immediately: Waffles are best served hot and fresh. If you need to keep the waffles warm, place them in a warm oven or on a warming tray.
  • Top the waffles with your favorite toppings: Waffles can be topped with a variety of toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, whipped cream, or ice cream.

Conclusion:

Strawberry waffles are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. By following these tips, you can make perfect strawberry waffles every time. So next time you're looking for a sweet and satisfying breakfast, give strawberry waffles a try!
