Someone brought this salad to a pot luck dinner and I had to have the recipe. I have made it many, many times since then and I have been asked for the recipe every time I bring it somewhere. It is also a great way to get kids to eat spinach!

STRAWBERRY SPINACH SALAD
Strawberry Spinach Salad. Delicious! Really there is not much else to say about this salad. I am not normally a fan of fruit with my greens or with my meat. In general I prefer my fruit by itself or in a dessert, however I love this salad. The sweet strawberries with the fresh spinach and the tangy dressing just go together. It is the perfect salad for spring and summer when strawberries are in season. When I visited my sister over the weekend she served a strawberry salad like this with maple glazed pecans and it was really good. I love the crunch the pecans added to the salad. I don't serve mine with pecans because of my daughter's nut allergy, but if you can have pecans, I would add the glazed pecans. It will make it even better.

Steps:
- In a bowl whisk together sugar, oil, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and salt. Place in refrigerator for several hours. This helps the sugar dissolve and the flavors to blend.
- For serving combine the spinach, strawberries, and dressing in a large bowl. Toss to coat well. I like to start with part of the dressing and toss and add more as needed.
- You can also serve the spinach, strawberries, and dressing separate and let everyone serve their own amounts of each.

Tips:
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor. If strawberries are not in season, you can use frozen strawberries. Just thaw them before using.
- To make the dressing, use a good quality balsamic vinegar. A cheap balsamic vinegar will not taste as good.
- Don't overdress the salad. A little dressing goes a long way.
- If you don't have any walnuts, you can use another type of nut, such as almonds or pecans.
- If you don't have any goat cheese, you can use another type of cheese, such as feta or blue cheese.
- Serve the salad immediately after making it. The strawberries will start to wilt if they sit for too long.
Conclusion:
Strawberry spinach salad is a delicious and refreshing salad that is perfect for a summer meal. It is light and healthy, but still filling. The sweet strawberries, tangy balsamic vinegar, and creamy goat cheese all come together to create a flavor combination that is sure to please everyone.
This salad is also very easy to make. It can be thrown together in just a few minutes. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy salad to make, try this strawberry spinach salad. You won't be disappointed.
