ICED STRAWBERRY SENSATION SMOOTHIE

Iced Strawberry Sensation Smoothie image

I enjoy smoothies but I am lactose intolerant and so many of them feature dairy. So, I have collected a few fruit smoothies that don't contain dairy. I found this one in the instruction booklet that came with my Kenwood smoothie maker.

Time 6m

Yield 3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

6 fluid ounces apple juice, chilled
7 ounces fresh strawberries, hulled and halved, if large
12 1/2 ounces cantaloupe, seeded, peeled and cut into chunks
8 ice cubes
1/2 ounce honey

Steps:

  • Pour the apple juice into the blender or smoothie maker.
  • Add the strawberries, chunks of cantaloupe and the ice cubes.
  • Blend for about 30 seconds.
  • Add the honey and mix in the blender or smoothie maker for another 10 seconds.
  • Serve in chilled glasses.

Tips:

  • Use frozen strawberries: Frozen strawberries will give your smoothie a thicker, creamier texture. If you only have fresh strawberries, you can freeze them for a few hours before making the smoothie.
  • Add a scoop of protein powder: Protein powder is a great way to boost the nutritional value of your smoothie. Choose a protein powder that is unsweetened and made with natural ingredients.
  • Use unsweetened almond milk: Unsweetened almond milk is a low-calorie, dairy-free alternative to regular milk. It also has a slightly nutty flavor that pairs well with strawberries.
  • Sweeten your smoothie with honey or maple syrup: Honey and maple syrup are both natural sweeteners that will add a touch of sweetness to your smoothie without overpowering the other flavors.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice: Lemon juice will help to brighten up the flavors of your smoothie and prevent it from tasting too bland.
  • Garnish your smoothie with fresh strawberries or mint leaves: This will add a pop of color and flavor to your smoothie and make it look more appealing.

Conclusion:

The Strawberry Sensation Smoothie is a delicious and refreshing way to start your day or refuel after a workout. It is packed with nutrients and antioxidants, and it is also a good source of protein and fiber. With its creamy texture and sweet and tangy flavor, the Strawberry Sensation Smoothie is sure to become a favorite in your home.
