Steps:
- 1. Bring pineapple juice to a boil. Add Jell-O and stir until Jell-O is completely dissolved.
- 2. Cool Jell-O until slightly thickened and add strawberries and chopped nuts. Refrigerate.
- 3. Melt butter in 400°F. oven in 9X13" pan. Mix broken (or crushed) pretzels in melted butter, spread to cover pan bottom, and bake 10 minutes. Cool.
- 4. Mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar. Spread over cooled pretzels.
- 5. Spread Cool Whip over cream cheese layer.
- 6. Top with slightly thickened Jell-O mixture. Refrigerate until fully set.
- 7. May add more Cool Whip over Jell-O layer, if desired.
- 8. Note: Although not included in original recipe, I like to add well drained crushed pineapple and thinly sliced bananas to the strawberries in the Jell-O layer.
Tips:
- Choose fresh, ripe strawberries: The quality of your strawberries will greatly impact the flavor of your dish. Look for bright red, plump berries that are free of bruises or soft spots.
- Use high-quality chocolate: The type of chocolate you use will also make a big difference. Look for a chocolate that is at least 70% cacao content for a rich, intense flavor.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can make the pretzels tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Chill the batter before baking: Chilling the batter will help the pretzels hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
- Bake the pretzels until they are golden brown: The pretzels should be baked until they are golden brown and cooked through. Check them frequently to prevent them from overbaking.
Conclusion:
Strawberry Pretzel Delight is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its combination of sweet strawberries, salty pretzels, and rich chocolate, this dish is sure to be a hit with everyone. Whether you are serving it at a party or enjoying it as a special treat, Strawberry Pretzel Delight is sure to please.
