STRAWBERRIES & CREAM CROISSANT PUFF

Strawberries & Cream Croissant Puff image

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 large croissants, cut up into small bite size chunks (about 5 to 5 1/2 cups)
1 cup fresh or frozen Strawberries sliced up into small pieces
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*F. Place croissant pieces in a 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle with strawberries. With a hand mixer, blend cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla in medium bowl until well blended and smooth. Slowly add milk 1/4 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Pour evenly over croissant pieces. Let stand 20 minutes. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until set in center and golden brown. You may want to cover it with foil for the last 10 minutes if the tops are getting too browned. Serve warm or room temperature sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use fresh, ripe strawberries. If you can't find fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries that have been thawed and drained.
  • Be sure to use heavy cream for the filling. This will help it to be thick and creamy.
  • If you don't have a pastry brush, you can use a spoon to brush the croissants with the egg wash.
  • Be careful not to overfill the croissants with the strawberry cream filling. Otherwise, they will be difficult to close and the filling may leak out.
  • If you're using a food processor to make the strawberry cream filling, be sure to pulse it only until the strawberries are finely chopped. Otherwise, the filling will be too runny.
  • Serve the strawberry cream croissants warm, right out of the oven. They're also delicious cold, but the filling will be less creamy.

Conclusion:

Strawberry cream croissants are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch treat. They're perfect for a special occasion or a lazy weekend morning. With their flaky pastry, sweet strawberry cream filling, and delicate glaze, they're sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give strawberry cream croissants a try. You won't be disappointed!
