STRAWBERRY BREAD & STRAWBERRY BUTTER

Strawberry Bread & Strawberry Butter image

My family has been making this for years, we love it. I'm sure you will too. Thanks for the great reviews. You must try the strawberry butter. I like the butter to be very cold or frozen when I eat it on the warm bread. I know the bread is good on its own, but it is excellent with the butter. It is definately worth your time and extra strawberries to make the butter. I'm sure it would make good french toast. I've never tried it, because it doesn't last long enough in my house for me to make french toast out of it. Enjoy!

Time 1h20m

Yield 1 loaf

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 (10 ounce) package whole frozen strawberries, thawed & drained (they will mash in the mixer)
1 (10 ounce) package strawberries, thawed & drained
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted

Steps:

  • Bread.
  • Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt & soda.
  • Combine eggs, oil & strawberries.
  • Add to dry ingredients. Use a mixer and mix together.
  • Pour into a greased and floured 9"x5" loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 mins or until a toothpick comes out fairly clean.
  • Serve with strawberry butter.
  • Butter.
  • Combine ingredients & blend with mixer. Serve with strawberry bread & enjoy.
  • Note: This makes a lot more than needed for 1 loaf of bread. Store in a container in the freezer when not using. It lasts for a long time in the freezer. No need to thaw before next use. Just scrape some off with a butter knife and spread. (I like it better when it is a little frozen.).

NEIMAN MARCUS MONKEY BREAD WITH STRAWBERRY BUTTER RECIPE - (4.3/5)

Number Of Ingredients 10

Strawberry Butter:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup strawberry preserves
Neiman Marcus Monkey Bread:
1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active-dry yeast
1 cup lukewarm milk (no hotter than 125 degrees)
Scant 3 1/3 cups (14 ounces) flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter

Steps:

  • Strawberry Butter: Whip butter in a bowl with electric mixer until fluffy. Fold in strawberry preserves. Return to refrigerator and allow butter to solidify. Neiman Marcus Monkey Bread: In the bowl of a stand mixer or in a large bowl, drizzle the yeast over the warm milk, stirring to combine. Set aside for a few minutes to hydrate the yeast. Meanwhile, in a separate large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar and salt. Using the paddle attachment with a stand mixer, or a hand-held mixer, beat the softened butter into the yeast mixture. With the mixer running, add the flour mixture until thoroughly combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed (as the dough thickens you may need to do this by hand). Continue to mix on medium speed until the dough appears sticky but becomes smooth to the touch when you roll a small piece into a ball, about 2 minutes. Form the dough into a disc and transfer it to a lightly greased bowl. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and set aside to rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour (time will vary depending on the temperature in the room). After dough has risen, turn out onto lightly floured work surface. Punch down and roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into 2″ diamond shaped pieces. Dip each piece in melted butter. Arrange in a 4″ pie pan, 4 or 5 overlapping pieces per loaf. Allow to rise for 1/2 hour. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until brown. Remove from oven and brush with more of the melted butter.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries that have been thawed and drained.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bread tough.
  • Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The bread should be golden brown on top.
  • Let the bread cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help to prevent the bread from crumbling.
  • For the strawberry butter, use unsalted butter so that you can control the amount of salt. You can also add a little bit of honey or maple syrup to the butter for a sweeter flavor.

Conclusion:

Strawberry bread and strawberry butter are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. The bread is moist and flavorful, and the butter is creamy and tangy. These recipes are sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
