Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1.5 cups fresh strawberries
4-5 fresh basil leaves
12 ounces seltzer ((1 can))
1 lime (half juiced, half sliced)

Steps:

  • Wash, hull, and roughly chop the strawberries. Cut a lime in half. Juice half of the lime, and slice the other half of the lime for garnishes.
  • Muddle the strawberries, lime juice, and basil together using a large mortar and pestle. Alternately, you can use a fork or potato masher. It should be broken down enough so the mixture can fit through a straw, but not too much that there's no texture.
  • Divide the berry mixture between two tall glasses. Fill the glasses with crushed ice, and fill to the top with seltzer.
  • Garnish with a slice of lime and more fresh basil (both optional).

Tips:

  • Chill your ingredients: For the best flavor, chill your strawberries, basil, and lime juice before making the mocktail. This will help to create a refreshing and flavorful drink.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh strawberries and basil will give your mocktail the best flavor. If you can, try to use organic ingredients whenever possible.
  • Make a simple syrup: A simple syrup is a great way to add sweetness to your mocktail without adding any extra calories. To make a simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, then remove from heat and let cool completely.
  • Get creative with your garnishes: Garnish your mocktail with fresh strawberries, basil leaves, or a lime wedge. You can also add a splash of sparkling water or club soda for a fizzy touch.

Conclusion:

This strawberry basil mocktail is a refreshing and flavorful drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you are looking for a non-alcoholic drink to enjoy, give this strawberry basil mocktail a try.
