Categories     steak     philly cheesesteak     wrap     sandwich     weeknight dinners

Time 25m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb. flank steak
1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 white or red onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
8 slices provolone
4 large whole wheat tortilla wraps

Steps:

  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brush steak with oil and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Cook steak until pink just disappears in the middle, 6 to 8 minutes on each side. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest, 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in the same skillet, cook onions and peppers until tender, 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low. Thinly slice steak across the grain and transfer back to skillet. Top with provolone and cover until cheese is melty, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Fill tortillas with steak mixture, wrap tightly, and serve.

Tips:

  • Choose the right steak: For the best flavor and texture, use a high-quality steak, such as ribeye, strip loin, or flank steak.
  • Cook the steak to your desired doneness: Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the steak is cooked to your liking. For a medium-rare steak, cook it to an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Use fresh and flavorful ingredients: The fresher and more flavorful the ingredients, the better your steak sandwich wrap will be. Use ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and a flavorful cheese.
  • Don't overstuff the wrap: Be careful not to overstuff the wrap, or it will be difficult to eat. Add just enough ingredients to fill the wrap without making it too bulky.
  • Serve the wrap immediately: Steak sandwich wraps are best served immediately after they are made. The bread will get soggy if you let it sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Steak sandwich wraps are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for lunch or dinner. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a flavorful and satisfying wrap that is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give steak sandwich wraps a try. You won't be disappointed!
