Time 6h20m

Number Of Ingredients 6

3/4" steaks (or boneless pork chops)
baking potatoes
small frozen corn on the cob
1/4 c worcestershire, heinz 57, or a1 sauce (i used worcestershire)
1/4 water
onions and garlic (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Place meat on bottom of crockpot and season to taste. I put a clove of garlic and a slice of onion in the bottom also. Add 1/4 cup of desired sauce (listed above) and 1/4 cup water. If you like you may use 1/2 cup sauce and no water. Cover with tinfoil to keep juices away from the corn and potatoes. Place foil wrapped potatoes and foil wrapped frozen corn (I rubbed corn and potatoes with butter before wrapping) on top of foil covered meat. Cook on low for 6 hours.

SLOW COOKER SWISS STEAK

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak image

I threw this together in my crock pot one day and we loved it! A little time consuming because I sauteed the vegetables and browned the meat first, but it's well worth it. Browning the meat first gives it a better flavor. This is great with mashed potatoes!

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Beef     Swiss Steak Recipes

Time 10h30m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 10

¼ cup all-purpose flour
salt and pepper to taste
1 ½ pounds round steak, cut into small pieces
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, shredded
2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar, or to taste

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper. Lightly coat the round steak pieces in the flour mixture.
  • Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat, and saute the celery, onion, and carrots about 5 minutes, until tender. Remove from heat, and set aside. Mix in the round steak pieces, and cook until lightly browned.

  • Cover, and cook 8 to 10 hours on Low, until the round steak is very tender.

Steps:

  • Place two (huge) Ribeye Steaks (or other cut of your choice) into the bottom of your crockpot. Sprinkle to cover with steak seasoning of your choice Pour ½ to ¾ cup steak sauce over steaks (I used almost a full bottle of Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce) Take a sheet of foil and top over the steaks Spritz the top with either cooking oil or Pam Place a layer of red potatoes on the foil and sprinkle sea salt over Add another layer of foil and cover the potatoes tightly to form a seal (this will allow the potatoes to steam Take 4 ears of corn and add butter, salt and pepper and roll tightly in aluminum foil. Place the ears of corn on top of the foil and then place the lid on tight. Do not open the lid. Cook for 6-7 hours on low - See more at: http://www.stockpilingmoms.com/2013/10/complete-steak-dinner-in-a-crockpot/#_a5y_p=1529835

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of steak: For crock-pot cooking, chuck roast, rump roast, or sirloin tip roast are good options. These cuts are less tender than other steaks, but they become fall-apart tender when cooked slowly in a crock pot.
  • Brown the steak before cooking: Browning the steak in a skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes per side adds flavor and helps to seal in the juices.
  • Use a good quality beef broth: The beef broth is a key ingredient in this recipe, so it's important to use a good quality one. Look for a broth that is low in sodium and has a rich, beefy flavor.
  • Add vegetables and seasonings: Feel free to add your favorite vegetables and seasonings to the crock pot. Some good options include carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, garlic, and herbs like thyme or rosemary.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours: The cooking time will vary depending on the size and thickness of the steak. For a 3-pound steak, cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.

Conclusion:

This crock-pot steak dinner is an easy and delicious way to enjoy a classic comfort food. With just a few simple ingredients and a little time, you can have a tender and flavorful steak dinner that the whole family will love. Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad for a complete meal.
