Categories     Pork

Time 25m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 1/2 lbs Brussels sprouts
3 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
1 large onion, chopped
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Put the sprouts in a steamer & cook for about 10-12 minutes or until just tender.
  • About half way through the cooking time for the sprouts, in a large skillet fry the bacon for 5 minutes or until crisp, then remove the bacon to cool, & in the same skillet saute the chopped onion for several minutes.
  • Crumble the cooled bacon & add it, along with the sprouts, to the skillet. Add the remaining ingredients & mix thoroughly.
  • Serve warm.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh sprouts: Look for sprouts that are bright green and have no signs of wilting or yellowing.
  • Clean the sprouts thoroughly: Rinse the sprouts under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
  • Trim the sprouts: Cut off the ends of the sprouts, where they were attached to the stem.
  • Use a variety of sprouts: Feel free to mix and match different types of sprouts, such as Brussels sprouts, broccoli sprouts, and alfalfa sprouts.
  • Cook the sprouts to your liking: Sprouts can be steamed, roasted, sautéed, or stir-fried. The cooking time will vary depending on the method you choose.
  • Add flavor with seasonings: Season the sprouts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or other spices to taste.
  • Serve the sprouts immediately: Sprouts are best served fresh, so don't let them sit around for too long before eating.
