Tips

  • Cook rice ahead of time: Not only does this save time, but it also helps prevent the casserole from becoming too mushy.
  • Use fresh spinach: Fresh spinach has a more vibrant flavor than frozen spinach, and it will also cook down more evenly.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables: Overcooked vegetables will become mushy and lose their flavor.
  • Use a good quality ham: A good quality ham will have a more flavorful taste than a cheap ham.
  • Season the casserole well: Don't be afraid to add salt and pepper to taste. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.

Spinach ham and rice casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make casserole that is perfect for a weeknight meal.
