HAM SPINACH AND CREAM CHEESE PINWHEELS

Ham Spinach and Cream Cheese Pinwheels image

This recipe came from the Taste of Home cookbook. I make these for a meal or filling appetizer. The original recipe calls for garlic and herb cream cheese, but I have also used whipped chive cream cheese.

Time 25m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (8 ounce) can pillsbury refrigerated croissants
4 ounces Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1/4 teaspoon Italian spices
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
fresh spinach leaves
ham slices (thin)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix the cheese with italian spices, and garlic powder.
  • Unroll and separate the dough.
  • Spread each triangle with a thin coat of the mixture ( cheese and spices).
  • Layer a slice of ham , and one or two spinach leafs ( until the whole triangle is covered).
  • Roll up the dough, and cut it in slices ( about 4 slices per triangle).
  • Place it on ungreased sheet and bake it until golden looking.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use fresh spinach. If using frozen spinach, thaw it completely and squeeze out any excess water before using.
  • To make the pinwheels easier to roll, place the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  • If the puff pastry sheet is too sticky, chill it for 15 minutes before rolling.
  • Be careful not to overfill the pinwheels, or they will be difficult to roll and seal.
  • Bake the pinwheels until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  • Serve the pinwheels warm or at room temperature.

Conclusion:

Spinach and ham pinwheels are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or lunchboxes. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a tasty and visually appealing dish that everyone will enjoy.
