SPICY AND SWEET STRAWBERRY BBQ SAUCE

Spicy and Sweet Strawberry BBQ Sauce image

strawberries, strawberries. What a wonderful thing to do with them. This is absolutely delicious! I found it several places online, so it isn't my own recipe. We used it with grilled chicken, but I see a future of experimenting going on at my house. What a delicious BBQ sauce!! I did add a lot more hot sauce then called for, and added a dab of chipolte hot sauce with it also. I found this on Razzledazzle, but the other place is probably the original creator. Evidently its a creation that Clark Kenny of Bubba's BBQ entered in a contest so I give him full credit with my highest appreciation.(servings are a guess, but it made around a pint, give or take.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, juicy strawberries: This will ensure that your sauce has a rich, sweet flavor. If the strawberries look old or mushy, skip them and choose some nicer-looking ones.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of chili peppers: If you like your sauce to be extra spicy, use a hotter pepper. For a milder sauce, choose a pepper with a more mild heat.
  • Taste the sauce as you go: This is the best way to make sure it's seasoned to your liking. If you find that the sauce is too spicy, add a little bit of honey or brown sugar to balance it out.
  • Let the sauce cool completely before storing it: This will help it to thicken up and develop its full flavor.
  • Store the sauce in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator: It will last for up to 2 weeks.

This spicy strawberry BBQ sauce is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used on grilled chicken, fish, shrimp, or pork.
