Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: For the best flavor, use a spicy Italian sausage. If you can't find spicy Italian sausage, you can use mild Italian sausage and add some red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Use fresh peppers: Fresh peppers will give your dish the best flavor. If you don't have fresh peppers, you can use frozen peppers, but thawed and drained first.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the sausage and peppers, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
  • Cook the sausage and peppers until they're browned: The sausage and peppers should be cooked until they're browned and slightly crispy. This will give them the best flavor and texture.
  • Season the dish to taste: Once the sausage and peppers are cooked, season the dish to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Serve the dish over rice: This dish is traditionally served over rice. However, you can also serve it over pasta or mashed potatoes.

Conclusion:

Spicy sausage and peppers over rice is a quick and easy meal that's perfect for a weeknight dinner. It's also a great way to use up leftover sausage. This dish is packed with flavor and is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy meal, give this spicy sausage and peppers over rice recipe a try.
